Quorn Chicken Fillets Review
Having tried the Quorn range of Meat Free Mince, I wasn’t exactly waiting in anticipation for these Myco Protein based Chicken Fillets that come 6 in a pack and measure up 10.5 cm long by 4cm.
We did these fried instead of microwave to give it more of a fried look and taste and what they did taste like was almost a mix between a Rustlers chicken fillet and a frozen imitation cheocken fillet. Its got some flavour to it, much more than I expected and to be honest it wasn’t that bad, not bad at all. Its nothing really like chicken but it has the flavour of an almost meat/fish type type fillet with a soy like background taste. Thats on its own fried, and with a sauce or in a casserole or stir fry which is what we did it was enjoyed by most. One person said it tasted tasteless and like a soggy sole but most of us had no problem. The texture is not like a real chicken fillet but like an imitation one you get in a microwave chicken sandwich.
I quite like it, I’m not vegetarian but for £1.04(on sale at Co-op at the time), almost 12% protein and a decent flavour I wouldn’t say no to having this once a week.
