Shredded Wheat Apple Crumble Cereal Review

Having tried out the Cherry Blackwell version of this new cereal, its time for the Apple Crumble version. We liked the Cherry Blackwell cereal that was sweet and did taste like a Cherry Blackwell cereal but this one is a little bit disappointing.

These little Shredded Wheat bales are filled with “juicy apples” and “topped with crumble”. On their own without milk they don’t really taste of apple crumble, you get an initial Shredded Whet type taste followed by a sweet sharpish apple taste from within. The apple taste is quite confectionary like instead of natural cereal like. The topping is barely noticeable.

With milk you get more of  flavour as you put several softened ones in your mouth it has a good flavour and there is a resemblance to apple crumble but once again the fake apple taste throws it off, if it had a natural apple taste instead of a Haribo type sweetness it might have worked but for me this is not really Apple crumble just a mini Shredded Wheat with apple in it and in my opinion if you want a real tasting Apple Crumble cereal then try out the Aldi Apple & Cinnamon cereal we reviewed a couple of months ago.
