Iceland Frozen Corn Bread Review
This Corn Bread is part of a new bakery range of frozen breads, croissants, waffles and more at Iceland. I’ve never really had frozen bread before because why would you? you can buy fresh bread or Danish almost anywhere.
So, I was pleasantly surprised when this frozen lump was baked and the fresh flavours that came out of it. The bread inside was soft and very fresh and the thin crispy crust sprinkled with pepper(not spicy) and bits of corn gave it a real freshly Farmhouse baked taste. The insides are soft and spongy and contain flakes of corn and occasional sunflower seeds to give it an extra bit of flavour but unlike other loafs than contain too many sunflower seeds this bread has just enough and sometimes barely noticeable except in flavour. The disappointing part is the lack of corn flavour, its non-existant and the yellow colour of the bread is most probably that colour because of the curry powder(which you can’t taste either). There is a very slight spice tingling on the tip of your tongue on the aftertaste buts its low low.
Overall, you wouldn’t know its a frozen bread once its out the oven and it does have a lovely flavour just not really corn like but other than that if you really want that freshly baked taste but can’t be bothered doing it yourself or if you want to fool family members into thinking you’re baking your own bread this is a good choice to get for just over a pound.
