Taylors Welsh Crisps Horseradish & Beef Review
We’ve taken a bit of stick over the years for not reviewing enough Welsh Supermarket products and that’s fair enough especially as we’re based in Wales but to be honest you don’t see that many Welsh products in store and if you do they don’t seem to last long.
But today we have Taylors Crisps in Horseradish & Beef flavour “….made with the best varieties of Welsh crisping potatoes that are cooked gently for a perfect crunch and unique dry texture”. Well, they are crispy and thicker than normal crisps and I do notice a harder texture to the crunch. The flavour is strong straight away, initially and quickly its a familiar beef crisps like taste but that is soon added and overtaken by a strong and tongue tingling mustard like flavour (that I guess is the Horseradish flavouring) that ends with the minutest touch of sweetness before ending and winding down into a meaty mustardy satifying aftertaste with a potato crisp flavour mixed in. The mustard like flavour can be a bit strong at times but overall its a very good crisp that tastes like beef and mustard on a quality produced potato crisp.
UPDATE: These were priced in the local Tesco’s at £1.79 but the entire batch has been sent to the bargain bin for 18p a bag so I’m guessing it might be the end of another Welsh product in Tesco’s?
