Co-op Lime & Mango Salsa Coconut Tortilla Chips Review
This interesting combination of flavours in a snack is new from Co-op priced at a £1 for a large bag. They are like oval tortilla chips(made from coconut, rice and maize) in appearance and definitely smell Mexican. They are crisp to the bite and instantly taste familiar, not tropical but something like a cheese crisp or something. I can’t put my finger on it but it does taste like some other crisp or tortilla chip. Anyways, as soon as you bite into it you get rich tastes on your tongue: cheese(even though there’s none, slight sweetness, corn tastes, bitterness and sharpness rom the lime and some saltiness and ever so gently in the aftertaste a bit of coconut.
I have to say that I’m not really getting the mango salsa at all or much of the coconut but I do like this tortilla chip. I do like the mix of flavours present even though you can’t seem to find the ones listed on the pack and I think would be great for a salsa dip. The only thing that’s missing is any pepper spice, none to be found, which is surprising for a Mexican inspired snack. Nevertheless, I quite like it and would buy it again.
