Alpen Oat Granola Review
Alpen have brought out a granola to compete with the growing crowded supermarket shelf space of resealable pack granolas. I have to say though that this a little disappointing from a big name in this space. It looks OK, not as much varied ingredients in the bowl as in the photo on the pack, but they’re not the only ones like that. What disappoints me is the taste on its own. As you take a handful and taste them its just the lacking of taste, that punch of flavour, its just not there. Its just a ho-hum granola. When milk is added there is much more flavour, as the milk mixes with the ingredients to give it an almost almondy milk like taste in the background which is nice and the granola gives off a slight resemblance in flavour to Alpen muesli but once again its just lacking any USP taste. Make no mistake, this is one of those granola that work your jawline and doesn’t really need any sugar added and although the taste with milk is growing on me a bit, I am still expecting a bit more oomph to justify the £2.99 price tag that will give me, if I’m lucky, 3 man-sized bowls of cereal.
