San Pellegrino Limonata Lemon Drink Review
These just hit the shelves at the local Tesco Express at 83p a can which didn’t seem expensive at the time(probably because I was attracted to the striking colours and foil lid making it look like an expensive Mediterranean import) but thinking about it now it’s quite expensive especially as you can get a can of pop in Poundland for less than 50p(2 for 1 in case you’re wondering). But I like the fact that its got a foil layer on the top which in a way is very hygienic because what you may not know is that some tins(especially drink cans with a lip) can get contaminated with Rat urine in the warehouses(even from big supermarket chains) and people do get sick from it. That’s why you should always wipe the rim of any can before you stick your gob on it…just sayin!
Anyways, once cracked opened the first gulp brought tears to my eyes….not because of fond memories of Karla, the Mediterranean sweetheart I used to know but now lost to somebody else….but tears because of it’s sharp and bitter lemon taste. It is a carbonated bitter lemon drink but with a slight bit of a sweet taste but damn its still sharp. I thought after a few mouthfuls it would die down but nothing doing. As bitter lemon drinks go, this is a high quality one and probably better suited to working with its good old partner Alcohol, but as a drink to quench your thirst as you stroll down the High Street…. I think not.
